I really love being a dentist. It allows me to make people healthy and proud of their smiles. I believe dental treatments can be life-changing. Furthermore, dentistry allows me to do small detailed work. Teeth are amazingly small, but their impact can be felt over the entire body. I make sure that patients are given personalized treatment plans as well as the time and attention to become experts of their own oral care. With me, patients smile often and for life.
Education and Continuing Education
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Washington State University. I continued on to the University of Washington for my Doctorate of Dental Surgery, graduating in 1995. I then joined the Navy and served as a dentist until 1999.
My promise since then has been to provide the best dental care to my patients. The only way to do this is by staying current with the newest materials, techniques, and equipment in the field. Technology is rapidly changing in dentistry, and in order to take advantage of these new benefits, I take numerous continuing education classes, attend conferences and seminars, and am part of many study clubs. I can proudly say that I am Invisalign® certified. I am also a member of several professional organizations, including:
- Seattle King County Dental Society
- Washington State Dental Association
- American Dental Association
- American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine
In the Office
I am genuinely interested in the well-being of all our patients. To provide the best service, I keep the practice in tiptop shape. It is efficient and fun yet very professional when it boils down to our dental work. I have an honest and caring approach to treatment. My first goal is to make sure each patient is as comfortable as possible. I understand how difficult this can be for some patients, and I rise to the challenge.
I know first-hand how painless dental procedures can be, and I strive to make each of my treatments smooth and easy. Many patients are surprised when it is over because it is so gentle. It is all part of the big plan of providing phenomenal quality oral care and brilliant smiles for life.
Outside the Office
I grew up in Edmonds, WA, but have resided in Ballard since 1999. It has been a great home for my wife, three children, and me. I enjoy playing soccer, reading, and attending my kids’ many activities, from soccer games to ballet performances. I am very passionate about being involved with my family. I have coached soccer and volunteered at my children’s school. I even found that I like chaperoning them to camps and class trips.
